MilesHerndon Snapchat Indianapolis

If you’re on the increasingly popular social network Snapchat, you’ve probably noticed some pretty cool things when you swipe left or right on your selfie. Not only can you add filters and time stamps, but some areas feature filters that are specific to their location. These are called “geo-filters,” and we thought it was a travesty that Indianapolis was filter-less. That’s why we teamed up with Snapchat to bring Indianapolis its first ever geo-filter!

In designing the filter, we wanted to do a few things. First and foremost, we wanted to represent Indianapolis’ skyline, including the Chase Tower and Soldiers and Sailors Monument. Secondly, we wanted to touch on Indianapolis’ rich basketball tradition. Finally, we wanted to make something vibrant and exciting that people would be eager to share. The result was the image above.

So far, the reception has been great and we’ve seen tons of people using the filter. If you have Snapchat and you live or work inside of I-465, swipe right on your next Snap to see it for yourself! We’re excited to see how people use the filter over the coming weeks (especially when the Final Four comes to town!), but the fun is just beginning for us!

Over the next month, we’re going to be releasing a lot of new, experimental design on Snapchat. We believe this is a medium that could be extremely powerful for marketers, and we want to be the experts on Snapchat design. If you want to stay in the loop and get an exclusive sneak peek at what we’re working on, sign up for our email list below!
